This looks more widespread than it did at first glance. I remove a total of four rotted tops - turns out it was not just those two - and I saw another four or five with their sugar leaves showing that dark purple colour - nearly black actually - and starting to curl every which way. Bud rot is quickly devouring my outdoor endeavour.

All four looked really good too when I watered them on Sunday evening before I left. Shows you how fast that fungus can consume once it gets hold.

I hear ya Shane ...

I dunno LG ... I think this September/early October heat & humidity might be starting to take it's toll on The Externals.

Fortunately, these are the only two tops so far - but I think with the warmer and more humid weekend here, there may be other tops come Tuesday morning when temps are expected to drop to more normal levels.

I use the same levels of nutrient mix to feed the tent ladies and their new growth doesn't give me any indication of overfeeding. The previous crop did show some light browning and the accompanying VEG crop showed some blotching while our furnace was on the fritz and the high humidity inside the house was not being controlled at all.

So far, these are the only two tops that I can see with this "ick". Let's see how they look next Tuesday.

watch for bud worms, they will affect a plant like that.

Once Wednesday hits we're just in the 60°s and lows in the 30°s. Hope the last of my tomatoes ripen. I gotta check the chimney/furnace this weekend because I have a feeling we're gonna need it soon.
