The new ones that are rechargeable are awesome. And they cover a good area. The butane version works okay but it's a much smaller bubble and it doesn't last long.
The refills are a bit pricey. $100 for four

I think it's just for small flyers like mosquitoes and flies.

I played yesterday with my regulars, one is a 5, the other scratch. I was on the putting green with my eyeline putting mirror. Neither had seen it before. It shows you where your eyes and shoulders line up when you address a putt. So they both try it out. The scratch guy putted lights out, the 5 struggled. He got so balled up from what he learned from the mirror he couldn't make anything. I warned him it's like a vaccine and the reaction can be unpleasant. He asked to take it home after the round! We play again on Tuesday. I'm interested to see how it goes. When I first started using it my eyes and shoulders were all cockeyed. I really improved when I could see what I was doing.

I used to use citronella candles before. I think those just illuminated us better so the mosquitos could find us.

These guys were at the Canada Day event at Stan Wadlow Park a few days ago! They had a giant inflatable Stay Puft man and were taking pictures with kids. I have no earthly idea what they do (kids party entertainment I think), but they were right into it. Like they made their own proton packs etc. Was kind of adorable

You can use apirin solution or willow bark to scew with their receptors also, if you dont have any deet.
Birch works also, or you can burn it in a smokey fire and bathe in the thick cloud to cover yourself.
