lol im dying of boredom nothing exciting is happening in my grow room. i almost accidentally killed my clones last week by forgetting to plug a pump back in after adding that stuff that keeps your rez clear. that was fun we survived pests and now my own incompetence. ive been painfully watching new equipment travel from all parts of the world. lol my 10/2 wire took forever to get here it was almost here it was finally out for delivery then all of a sudden the carrier was like item too damaged will ship back to sender i was like nooooo. had to order it again. it did finally arrive my first twist locks i ordered the gland on the end for the rubber fitting was too large others are on the way but there coming from china ive been slowly watching that travel.
ive also been getting stoned and time travelled back to 1995 in my basement with this super nintendo. they now make these special cables in the uk that turn 240 into 480p so that modern tvs can receive the signal as well as flashcarts so i can own every game as well as wireless remotes its been grand no friend requests or bs ads telling me about some apparently awesome game discount they have going on lol and if somebody wants to play with me they actually have to sit next to me lol.
i also taught myself how to recharge the a/c in my pickup truck today that was also very exciting for me. im a very talented tradesmen but not very technically inclined when it comes to vehicles i had help from ai determining where to put this device as well as what psi was actually needed. turned out it just needed to be recharged no leaks compressor works no short cycling either. finally cold air in the truck.
mounted my drivers today, it has this tiny little controller thingy. im hoping its for the dimmer. does anyone know if you can still use your own timer for these lights im hoping to still shut the power on/off with my 240volt flipbox.

i did a bit more reading i dont think im going to setup the light with the larger controller and the ios app. i dont want to be dependent on that. im going to set that little controller to always on and just use it to control the dimming and have all the power still controlled by a separate physical timer with the flipbox. my twist lock connectors are coming today hopefully then ill confirm if they will work then my electrician friend is gona cut the ends off the drivers and the light and going to rewire that with 10/2 rather than 14/2.
yes i did lol, ive learned a trick for that over the years. i do all the math first on a piece of paper so the spacing is equal around the edge drill all the holes and screw in the anchors then i sweep up the drywall. then i lay a couple thick blankets on the floor and lay the lamp on top of that so it doesnt get damaged then i just hoist it up on the hangers.
i had difficulty mounting the drivers remotely on the wall, first i screwed the whole bracket upside down (power cord on wrong side) then i stripped the screws that were supplied omg they were awful. i then went to the hardware store to go get some screws / large rubber washers/bumpers to put between the bracket and the wall so i could get some air movement behind the drivers at one point i dropped one of the rubber bumpers and it rolled somewhere under the furnace i never found it lol it was a shitshow
wow finding twistlock connectors is hard ive ordered the wrong ones twice. i think that the hardest part is getting the gland size correct that is compatible with 14/2 outside diameter of 7mm but the same gland also being large enough to accept 10/2 with an outside diameter of 11mm.
some quick math for comparing voltage drop with the stock 14/2 10ft extension supplied by ac infinity vs 10/2 with our own twist lock connections
my old setup was 20 foot cords not remote mounted. i was doing some measuring and i think i could do a 17 foot run from the drivers and that would be an improvement of 33% vs the stock extension cord supplied by ac infinity so shouldnt have any negative effects. heres a parts list if anyone else is interested.
