Rick M checking in

now I'm growing in living soil in a 4x4 raised bed, making ferments for flower and making Jadam IMO for soil biology.
I could use some Jadam in my life, outdoor nutes cost money too!
I use a few biotics for IPM inside, gave up on indoor organics after the fish emulsion spill as well, lol.

Try some rove beetles for organic predators in the soil, they feed on compost and actively hunt other bugs.
I used to catch them in yard cleanup, toss them in the grow.

Oh man you had a spill too! It's bad for days lol

What do you mean by spray? Are you folar feeding?

I stopped indoor organic when I spilled a gallon of fish emulsion in the basement lol nasty to say the least 🤮

There's a lot of knowledge here. Some of, if not most of the growers here have been growing for many years and in many different ways. So ask questions and please add to the knowledge. Your setup sounds interesting. I'd be worried about bugs. That's another thing I didn't like with the organic indoors. A number of years ago I even had my rez for my f&d table full of fish......that's a pain in the ass on another level lol
Bugs during the summer at times from going between my indoor growing and outdoor garden, but so far, nothing unmanageable or damaging to my flowers. Fish emulsion... I bet it was nasty. I love growing organic in living soil.. for me it's easier... top dress after harvest, top dress a bit before flip.. then just water with some ferments and biology... Real Growers Recharge, Jadam IMO and KNF Lab Serum for soil biology

I love Jadam IMO (indigenous microorganisms) I use it on my outdoor food garden as well.

this spray mix called for spraying the day of flip, then every other day for a total of 4 sprays..got very few pollen sacs.. no pollen

The problem was the instructions, not you. If you start before flip, you’ll definitely have better results. I'm willing to be you had lots of female flowers on the plant. That ends up being more of a hermaphrodite than a reversal.

not that time, this last time I had more hermies and also pollen sacs but no pollen from one strain... i got a small amount of pollen from 1 plant though.. i manually pollinated a few plants, now just waiting to see if it is viable.... it really messed up my grow plans

the problem you experienced is STS blocks ethylene production in the plant, that causes female sex expression. Silver ions outcompete copper ions in the plant's ethylene receptors. By shutting down the plant's ability to process ethylene, the plant defaults to producing male flowers. Starting at flip doesn't give the plant enough time to block ethylene production, you still get female flowers, partial reversals or low quality pollen.

Thanks, lesson learned... I'm going to try your schedule soon... the spraying before flipp works out better for my setup as well... now I'm getting itchy to start
