Y'all know I've been there recently with mites. Like those aphids, mites abandon plants when they sense that their gravy train is ending. I removed those two affected plants that evening and left them close to the door to take and dump them out back next morning. The little fucks must have sensed something was a foot.

By the next morning, each plant had a bunch of two foot long strands of mite webbing hanging down from the a few of the outer most leaves in the plants. And each strand with several hundred mites hanging on them waiting for the wind to move them to their next victim. All of those strands were twirling and swaying INDOORS WHERE THERE WAS NO WIND!!!! The mites were jockeying for position on the strand. It felt like I was watching those bug scenes in the Owner Of A Lonely Heart video from Yes.

Didn't bother with bug killer or any chemical stuff. Went the total reboot route.

Took new cuts then chucked the plants. I bobbed them new cuts in plain water to knock as many off as possible. I let the cuts root then using plain water from a spray bottle, held the new plant candidates upside down by the stem & medium and sprayed both sides - soaked actually.

Kept checking with a magnifier a few times each day and knocked any other little rogue bugs that might have been hiding in the crevasses. When I went 3 days without seeing anything they were allowed back into the VEG area.

Reboot complete.

Used it in my garden this year, after the back and forth into my grow room last year I wanted to eliminate the possibility of bringing them in. I also sprayed the grow room to catch any little fockers hanging around. I pulled infested leaves, sprayed.. took care of the issue.
