beefing up security the world is getting rough. bought a giant fire proof safe that takes a few guys and equipment to move due to fears of thieves last year. then it happened some random people broad daylight attempted to break in while i was home. vechicles literally in the driveway. the people were high out of there tree dam these fentanyl addicts. neighbour caught them trying to break a window. they escaped. they were awfully lucky to get stopped by my neighbour im not the sort of person to call the police i would have harmed them for sure. guess im installing fancy cameras with human and car detection now.
Oh man! I hope you’re okay @xox - that is some frightening stuff! Having great neighbour’s am I right?

Try and take some time for yourself this weekend. Be safe

Sorry to hear about that.

Are you wiring them all with Cat5 cable? No wireless?

Lovey has insisted for years that our home be equipped with cameras. Currently using the light socket version over Wi-Fi

im doing cat6 dahua nvr 16 port powered over ethernet dual hard drive with the ability to turn ai features on/off with 8 megapixel cameras with a dome with ip67 rating for the weather up here. i got all the cat6 for free from a buddy of mine we pulled all the cable a couple weeks ago, last weekend i crimped all the ends using the gold plated indeed brand connectors then tested all the wiring. found a supplier in hong kong to ship me all the equipment cut out alot of middlemen. locally they wanted $1700 for a cheaper model nvr with only 2 terabytes. i ended up scoring the latest mode with ai for around $700. it said 40 terabytes but im betting thats only what its capable of im betting it arrives with no drive inside for that price ill likely have to buy my own sata drive and put that in.

Huge machines needed for that! Any work on submarine or Navy systems? A group in our building made some huge pumps for submarines and other heavy items for the Navy, mainly aircraft carriers. No pictures as they are sensitive about pictures of key submarine components. Rightly so.
The things I worked on were relatively small and light as they had to fly.

All mining equipment. Mostly super hard white iron alloys. Carbide won't even scratch it. We used CBN and ceramics to machine it.

Development of space hardware is intense. Many types of required test that are performed throughout the US and take months/years. Pyro-shock was always fun in Santa Clarita, California as was the underwater test in Houston at NASA NBL. I loved and miss the work.

Edit: I was never underwater as that was the astronauts job along with the divers. Ensuring our hardware could be installed in zero gravity.
