Prairie Pot Patch

I definitely wouldn't mind trying more of their stuff.
I made some S1's if you wanna give this a whirl. It's the seed junky cross with clear water. Wifey really likes and and it's a big producer.

The Ice cream cake came by fed ex today. Temps get pretty chilly at night now and it was shipped with a heat pack. They also sent an free donny burger clone that's probably not going to make it. I really like he included a free cut, but I'm not sure why he would include one that was barely rooted. It sort of casts doubt about his practices. Had it been a winner I would give them 10/10 stars.

I went over it pretty well with my eye spy. I couldn't see anything I could identify as bugs. I'll transplant into a solo cup and stick it in my clone dome for a week and see if anything shows up.

The ice cream cake is out of quarantine and chillin with the rest of the veg plants. No bugs !

I've tried pretty hard with the Donny Burger to bring it back, but It just couldn't Hang tough... I know,, save the groans and the thumbs down.... I can't even stop myself if i tried.

The bag seed gamble is coming along. A couple more weeks to go. It doesn't jump out at me as the best thing I've ever grown, but certainly not the worst either. I haven't been able to find any signs of seeds so I think I'm going to get away herm free.

I know it was a free clone they threw in but I'd email them and show what was sent and owner should be surprised it was even sent like that barely any roots. Plus the time and energy you spent trying to nurse back to health and give you a new one With roots this time. Looking forward to seeing the ice cream cake!

I sent him a message and pics when it first arrived. He said he would replace the ICC if it didn't make it. But I got the impression I was shit out of luck with the DB. I didn't really push him on it though. I mentioned to him previously that I do grow journals on various sites and would be sure to include his clones. So I think it would have been smart of him to eat a bit of a loss on this one. I'm still overall positive so far on his product, but he could have really smashed it out of the park replacing it. The grow community isn't all that big and word of mouth is king.

I priced out some cloners on Amazon and I got pissed off. So I figured I'd do a test run with a margarine container and a old pump and air stone I had sitting around. About 10 min's of minimal effort this is what I came up with. If this thing actually works I might add some more holes and fancy it up some. Maybe some paint to block the light and a longer air stone.

Holy shit it worked, I got roots on my 2nd try. First run I was using water with nutrients in it and was letting the PH drift a lot. The 1liter of water was going from 5.7 to 7.2 after 48 hours. It's still not quite right even with daily adjustments, these roots have sort of stalled out over the last few days and the plant is starting to look like crap so I'm going to stick it into some dirt. Any tips on dealing with PH drift or am I sort of screwed with such a small container of water ?

The larger the rez the slower the drift. With water temps too.

To be honest I don't even worry about PH with clones. they aren't uptaking nutrients so unless it's dangerously low or high I don't worry about it.

Clones that are pumped full of N take longer to put out roots.

that's when they usually start throwing roots like mad.
I've never done them in a bubbler type setup before so I was just treating them like I do clones in the little peat pods. My ph sits around 7,2. You think they'll be fine in that ? My first attempt my clone just got white nubs that never turned into roots. When I used AI it said it was either because I was feeding it nutrients or the high PH hardened it off.

that's where my tap water ph is at. I don't feed nutrients to clones either. Just water until they've rooted.
