Today I got 7 germed out of 11 in 36 hours.

These plants turned out huge. Completely fallen over except 2 valiant colas. Now fast drying for easiest seed extraction.

Halfway through separating seeds. 45g so far @ 30 seeds a gram, 1350 beans. Not quite 'about a pound' but jeez o flip as we used to say.

I used classic tech: a sheet of foam core held at a proprietary angle and agitated as crumbled buds were sprinkled at the upper edge, seeds bounce to the bottom quickly. Like a vinyl album cover but bigger.

I finally got around to deseeding the final plant. Total weight, 190g from 3 pretty big plants. I would have expected 15 Oz or so but it all got pulverized and discarded.

Not every seed looks viable. I know the dark ones are, so I chose a group of particularly unpromising beans for a germ test. If they don't sprout, I'm eyeball judging about 75% total viability.

Meanwhile, my young plants from an earlier germination test have roots poking out the bottom, so I'm prepping my flower tent.

I know reversal can bring back some hidden traits, but I agree, these look quite uniform. It will be interesting to compare them when they flower to previous grows. My bet is they'll be pretty similar.

3 days in a damp paper towel and at least 2 of the unripe looking seeds have popped. This boosts my germ rate for the whole harvest considerably higher. I didn't expect any germination from this group.

Interesting they turned darker with soaking.

Wow I've probably tossed a bunch of good seeds then. It is very interesting that they got darker.

Yea I'm glad you posted that about seeds,I was gifted some freakshow beans and it's a fern looking cannabis plant and seeds I got looks like those but a little more funky. I'm guessing it's just the strain.

Final germ post. The sprouted ones did indeed stall. I would stick with large, firm seeds with dark variegated hulls. A couple littler.ones cracked but white mold quickly followed.

Some seeds require a bit more ripening so my lazy ass justifies leaving them for a year LOL or at least a month before finishing up sorting. They look great.

You mean a year after harvest? Super interesting. I'm very happy with this whole grow and its side investigations.
