Margherita, squash borers attacked both my buttercup squash plants. I had to slice the stems open to extract the grubs. I hope they recover. I noticed the new squash yellowing and stunting, I thought I was just not feeding enough. Nope.

I feel like bugs have gotten worse in the last few years.

I just got a gallon of bT. Spraying everything. While I was trimming this morning I watched a cabbage moth lay 2 eggs on a kale leaf. They've always been my worst pest. I haven't grown squash much, I've heard the horror stories. Now I've experienced it!

Morning update, foliage perky again. I removed the failing fruits so the energy goes elsewhere. Looks like the surgery was successful! Still have 6 growing squash and more can still set.

I cut my losses on the buttercup squash plants. Got 5 decent sized fruits. They were continuing to fail and I found more grubs in the stems. These will be nice and I have space to plant something else.

Today I got my first harvest of hydro radishes. I need to refine the process. I sowed directly into rockwool, putting the seed in the hole. I think they should be vegged a bit in a tray before installing in the rails and sown on the surface of the rockwool not inside it. Still happy for a first try. Going to load up with lettuce now.
