I was going to try making some canna oil in my crockpot. It's kinda big and recepie calls doing 1 cup olive oil to 1 cup bud. Once I figure out what temp low or warm stays around 180° to infuse for 6 hours. Should I add a half cup more oil because weed sucking up oil or evaporate when infusing?

I have made infused oil capsules using slow cooker. Batch size was about 200 ml and never worried about evaporation as the same oil added at start was same oil at the end and I let it cook for 12 hrs or so.

Make a cheesecloth bag for your bud. Like a giant tea bag.

Or add a bunch of water so the oil floats. Let it cool and skim off the oil. Thats how I made it.

Make a cheesecloth bag for your bud. Like a giant tea bag.

Or add a bunch of water so the oil floats. Let it cool and skim off the oil. Thats how I made it.

I put my bud in oil in a canning jar and essentially used the crockpot as a water bath. Then I moved to my pressure cooker and cut it to 1 hour oil extraction and finally got my Levo. You could not pry that outta my cold dead hands.

My crockpot is garbage doesn't heat up right. Could I just use my regular stove oven and put at 180° and put in water bath in brownie pan with a Mason jar? What I read then leave it in for 6 hrs.

Is smell a worry? Is that why you want to use a mason jar?

No just figured easier I make everything complicated,lol. Just put in a glass dish?

I would decarb, then put the bud plus oil in a mason jar on the stovetop in a water bath at a low simmer for a couple hours, don't want it to boil. Done.

Get a pot put weed, oil/butter and water. Let that simmer, you can add water if it steams off. The majority of the bud will settle into the water and leave you with fairly clean oil/butter. If you put the weed in a cheesecloth bag it will help even more. If you want to refine it even more. When the oil/butter solidifies put it in fresh water and let it simmer again. I think it was called butter washing. Worked really well for really clean medicated oil/butter. Just make sure you put enough water in so theres room for the plant material to settle into.

Yeah I did that also in double boiler with a steel bowl on top with butter and put in fridge and popped right out water when solidified. I just wanted to maintain a constant temp without having to monitor to much. Why I wanted clarification if do in oven.
