If you’re gonna go that route a sterile res might make more sense due to the large volume of water and high cost of hydroguard

im hoping to be able to get 148 litres into the reservoir when its full. how many litres is your reservoir and how often you refill it? i prolly wont add anything extra if its not necessary. i water 28 litres of nutrient solution to the 4 plants every other day. do you think i should continue with the 28 litres every other day or should i water less but more frequently? im unsure whats better.

Mine is 100 liters. (26ish gallons). Feeding 9 plants in 2 gallon posts I got 5-6 days

I don’t have much experience with promix. I’m hoping @Shane Karmann can share some info about how he feeds.

Not an expert but this is what works for me. The nutrient solution can go a few days maybe a week before it starts to smell. If you plan on consuming the reservoir in less time, no worries. If however, you are going to stretch it out longer then you will need something to keep the slime away. I have used Hydroguard and it works but has some limitations, in my experience, now I just use a pinch of regular pool shock once a week.
As to watering, I am in coco/perlite and when I increased the frequency to 5 times a day there was noticeable growth.

I use a190L plastic barrel for 2 tents with 4 plants in each. Feed twice a day to a bit of runoff. Barrel runs dry every 10 to 14 days. Dump, rinse, refill.

do you use pool shock or hydroguard?

I have Hydroguard but I have not used it in years. But in my cold basement the res temp stays quite cool year round below 20C
and it's not inside the tents so it doesn't get blasted by light. I think a sterile res is more critical in active recirculating systems. I used to do flood and drain with a 20 gallon res and pH was continuously unstable. DTW eliminated that instability. Once I dose my res it stays pretty stable.

day 2 of flower, going to adjust the ppfd from 450 to 700 now. cut some clones. after the shitshow of trying to install 3" drip rings im taking a different approach to cloning. im no longer going to focus on multiple branches at the base of the plant we'll just shoot for 1 lol.

yea its mint im liking it so far. just upset with my poor setup skills lol. im thinking im going to move the reservoir outside the room in the future. add a second pump to constantly mix my nutrients. going to add a couple ball valves so i can rinse the tub as well as pump the water used to wash the tub straight to the waste water. no vacuuming water thats not ideal lol

scooped up some new seeds dantes wrath s1. been hearing good things about clear water genetics its also a cross of dante's inferno that collab between clear water and tikimadman i heard dantes inferno was good shit so ill prolly try this out next.

its a cool system. i regret not setting up drip irrigation sooner. i left for a whole week on vacation went to check on everything when i got back and didnt have to do anything other than adjust the light intensity with the meter and fill up the tank it gives me alot more freedom.
