Weed-a-Paloosa 2025 - 11 plants

Transplanted in above medium mix . PISStacular 😁

It’s relatively simple - it was designed with a non cook soil approach , layered RTU (ready to use) soil and amendments.

I prefer 2 blends ( that I source locally ) …. Recipe 420 potting or Bhang mix or HY-POR (if you find it). The other soil is FFOF (ocean forest) , I get it at hydro shop for $12 a bag.

Yes, many growers are not fans of FFOF, but it works well for me. I understand there may be ā€œ regionalā€ differences in bag composition.
Various ingredient sources and such. There is the Fungus Gnat issue that may or may not be an issue with this heavily enriched soil.
That is why those flying bastards love it , it is organic dense and has plenty of enriched decaying matter in it. It is a living soil.

It is an all in one soil too. You can run an autoflower for weeks on this soil alone. Tap water ….
No measuring runoff, ph or other ridiculous worries. As the autoflower begins to deplete this medium ( week 6 ? ) , a simple topdress of NEW FFOF on top of soil / watered in , will recharge it.

Easy fuckin peezy.

Many overthink this RTU soil. It is a basic plant, water , and harvest soil. But, many throw more nutrients and burns up their shit or get crazy deficiencies. BUT ……. :devilish: You can tweak it.

Layered mix ;

Bottom 1/3 of pot ( FFOF / #3 perlite chunk or pumice / EWC ( APPROXIMATELY 10% OF THAT LAYER )
Sprinkle a layer of MYCO ( Xtreme gardening or DYNOMYCO or your choice )
Fill remainder with a mild potting soil ( recipe 420 , black magic , etc. ) Add some perlite and EWC.
( OPTIONAL : add kelp meal, mushroom compost or a simple dry fert [ 1 or 2 tablespoons mixed in ] )

Water with tap water. ( 10:1 pee :stoned: ). No stupid distilled , Ro or unicorn sweat.

I have other mixes as well , all interesting variants. However , this one is my most used blends , as I can PREP containers easily.
FFOF is prebuffered so watering requires ZERO OVERTHINKING.
Yeah I got to agree. When I started growing organic bugs were just something I had to deal with. I swear sometimes the fungus gnats come swarming around the same time wife says, that fertilizer stinks. Haha

Over the last few years I've been able to adjust my soil to my liking. It's not always successful but I tend to fill jars.

I bought a giant bale of Rice hulls at my feed store. I like to add three parts cheap soil and one part hulls. Then I top dress with cheap dry fertilizer. I stopped using recharge 3 years ago. Now I use spirulina powder or chlorella powder.

Hey bud I bought a bag of FFOF because other stores had nothing on shelves and bought a small bag a perlite. All the funds right now, forgot mycos but I'll add later if that's ok. I'm growing a critical kush and meltdown x Northern lights photos, was just asking when I should feed. Have powdered kelp I can spray for foliar and I'll get that triple 5 dr. Earth to topdress, also have some soil left I can use to recharge like you do. I figured a couple weeks of just water? Maybe a spray of kelp. Just transplanted into yesterday,thanks..

Keep it simple … let the bagged medium do the initial feeding . Water it , let it find its way in its host soil.
No need to foliar , however save the kelp for a water infusion into soil later on. Recharge is not the end all in myco choices , look for alternatives - Xtreme Gardening MYKOS (good stuff) or even DYNAMYCO (great stuff).

Tip: (FAB BAG CONTAINERS)

If you grow in fabric grow bags , you can add a boost of myco WITHOUT much disturbance to plant.
Here’s how ….

Wait til plant gets dry and feels a little light , expand a gap around plant soil and fabric bag. Just an opening , nothing crazy .
Sprinkle MYCO around circumference- pinch here , pinch there. I also mist spray to ā€œ bind it ā€œ to the roots that run along inside of bag.
Then , because peat based soil can get a little hydrophobic , I water very slowly around stem then outwards to pot edge.

I am not dumping water. If you did just dump cups on it and soil is hydrophobic- water will go right thru straight to the bottom without much saturation.

FFOF should get you 4-6 weeks of growth (depending on her feeding) with minimal input. No need to hyper load this soil, it is nute dense and will power that plant just fine. Occasionally - some plants get some burning slightly ( some strains ) but do not assume you have to add something , …. It is not a deficiency- just acclimation to the soil.

Later Feeding :

Photoperiod - your 5-5-5 dry fertilizer is a fine ALL AROUND GENERAL FEED. You can STILL flower and bloom on this NPK.You can run a combination of FFOF ( New fresh soil ) as a TopDress feed (couple cups of soil) and water in. Or use a tablespoon or 2 of dry fertilizer scratched into top soil , then watered. Space dry fertilizer feeds apart - once a week maybe as a way to stop possible overfeeding. It gives a chance for fertilizer to begin to become available to plant , since it takes a little time.

Note: tryin to stay coherent as I type - Hella High right now. :bong:

Autoflowers : Even simpler , let container feed for the first 4-6 weeks. Then , maybe a spoonful of dry fertilizer to help the transition to bloom stage and stretch. Or Topdress at intervals til harvest ,….. no stupid runoff checks or other drama.

Treat the damn thing like any other houseplant.

Houseplants do not need multi bottles of nutes …. Right ?

Awesome info, that's what I was hoping for. I'll remember to use the fab pots next run I just moved to final five gallons plastic pot. What I had,so hope can still give the mycos if needed? I wanted to sprinkle some as I was planting all over root ball but next time. I'll get some pics when she settles in. Appreciate it..

I worked out a formula that's actually been working well. I used straight FFOF the top 1/3 and the bottom 2/3 I added around 1/2 cup 2-2-2 Dr Earth general purpose mixed thouroughly and 1/3 cup of the Down to Earth flower mix in a layer about 2 inches from the bottom. I also mixed Mykos in that bottom 2/3. I added a tblsp of Epsom salts to the mix also. So far, I've only added water by sitting the pot in a basin with about 6 inches of water so the top stays dry. No gnats and no deficiencies so far. The Pic is from right after receiving water, so she's drooping. But, that only lasts a couple hours before she perks back up. A few leaves tend to claw for a day or 2 after watering, so I'm hoping that I won't have to add any nutes. I put pantyhose on the bottom to cover the drain holes from gnats. Thanks for the advice. The seedling in the Pic is in Pro-Mix. I'm experimenting.

I knew it. Shit. I pinched off all I could find. I have no other plants ready for flowering. Just a few vegging clones in another room , 2 rooting cuttings and a seedling auto. I mean, at least it's not a full male. I used to smoke pot with seeds so it could be worse. I'm gonna take it out tomorrow and go over every inch with a spotlight. I'll pinch it freaking bare. Damn thing is growing like crazy. Must be the male side showing lol. Seems like most male plants look fabulous until they show balls. I've only had 1 hermie before. Oh well, good thing I have others but they're still safe.
