The Male having some pistils I saw as well. Definitely a Sour Strawberries trait. Didn't negatively impact the genetics at all in my experience!

Agreed . The genetics are great. I still think that a more stable male will improve the strain.
Speaking of which, do you have any name ideas for this strain?
I dont have any ideas at the moment. Perhaps once I refine and alter the genetics, a name will come to mind.

Im pretty sure that in 2009, I grew Arjans Strawberry Haze, outdoors in CA. I got the clone from a dispensary. It was a nice plant. It had a fruity strawberry diesel terp profile.

Arjans was such a good haze. Never had Arjans Strawberry Haze though. That sounds tasty!

I swear it smells like grape koolaid. Changes a lot when its cured though. More spicy, but retains a fruity nose.

Including this Google picture as a reference. Male plants that herm under light stress, look similar to this. They will throw a few pistils, and can be easy to miss especially if it throws only 1 pistil.

Ive been messing around with rooting cuttings in straight pearlite. Im getting a 90% success rate. The nice thing about rooting in pearlite is that I dont have to replace the medium.

The tray needs to be filled with water in order for the pearlite to stay moist, otherwise the pearlite dries out quickly. I also have a heating pad going.

Another experiment, I am cutting up a plug into 4 small pieces. If it works, ive essentially multiplied my inventory of plugs by 4.

Week 4 on 12/12
All of the plants are drinking 1cup of water a day. Half a cup in the tray, half a cup for top soil. Im trying a different method of watering to see if it makes a difference. I top dressed half a tbsp of 4-4-4 pellets today.

The SFV OG seems to be Nitrogen monster. Large Fan leaves are fading. The blood meal has broken down, and the new growth is darkening. If I decide to run this cut again, I will remember to hit it with 2 tbsp of blood meal in week 1 of flower.

I pollinated a small branch with my purple male. I'm going to stabilizing this strain again, with a vigorous SFV OG male. Its on my list of projects.

The purps is just trudging along. Easy to grow, light feeder.

The Amnesia Haze x Sour Strawberry is looking delicious. Easy to grow, moderate feeder. Really frosty compared to the other plants.

The Amnesia Haze x Purple VI cross pollination is looking great. I will probably end up with 80-100 seeds. I dusted three branches on the smaller plant.

Hey bud cannabiscrusader told me to top my plant at sixth node and I have a kush also that popped same time that is at fifth. Should I just top smaller one along with. I was curious when you top. I was told year's ago to top at fifth and this person kept topping for at least couple more times but those were going outside. Mine are going in a closet 7ft tall,4ft long,2ft wide. Soil grow for medium,just if needed info.

I dont like topping. I pinch the terminal bud off. Its less stress and doesn't stunt the plants growth as much as topping.
Just to be clear, there is a difference.

I think pinching the terminal bud at 4-6 nodes is fine. Once the plant is well established, you can top or pinch the buds as much as you want. All it does is encourage the growth for more tops. It does stunt the plants growth, everytime you top it, so keep that it mind.

Most plants will turn into dense bushes. Genetics is a factor. Some plants, like Silver Haze, will still keep stretching upwards. It wont turn into a bush.
