Shane's Vegetable Farm

I got tired of topping up my 27 gallon tote res, now halfway through switching to a 40 gallon model. Really glad the larger size fits. If the 55 gallon had fit I would have gone with that! While I'm rearranging everything, going to ditch the carbon filter and move the fan outside the tent somewhere tbd. Really loving this tent.

oh, and I deleted the tomatoes. The biomass to fruit ratio wasn't going to work out.

Finally solved the problem of light leaks in my rails. One round black foam cloning collar fits snugly into the net pots. Seeing green on roots is never good!

I replaced all those stupid Hole Cover stickers. They didn't stick and nutrients dissolved the pigment so they were basically cloudy packing tape. Nice and clean looking too.

this is really cool, i have a question have you ever thought of running some dwarf cherry tomato varieties in the blue hydroponics equipment? i really like red robin and orange hat as far as dwarfs go. seems like lots of work growing those huge trees.
I tried it at first. Their roots were too much for that system, kept making it overflow, drained the whole res once! The variety I'm running is a cherry. I haven't thought of dwarf plants. I think I need to try Bush type tomatoes, harvest all at once like pot, instead of managing vines in limited space. I agree the plants I have would be much better outdoors. All of this is me charging forward with minimal forethought or research.
