My contractor screwed up. He didn't check the angle of the outside corner of the room. I don't see an easy fix. Then he used satin finish paint even though I gave him a can to match that was clearly marked gloss. And left an inexplicable 1.5 inch gap on one side of another unit. I really don't like the shadow line that created and it's just a dumb spider hole.

I have heard a lot of stories about what a bad review will do
 
If the 2 parts don't fully slot together the shelves would be unsupported at one end. There's no smoke and mirror fix.

Sounds like he's going to make good on it. And learned to check everything......especially on an old house. Back in my twenties I worked on a lot of old homes. Learned a lot because not everything was straight, plumb or level.

We hired him because he's been working on similar houses in the neighborhood. Good refs too.

Caulk won't fix this. Art History books weigh more than gold.
