LOL!! Our Rolodex of guys.
Indeed. I have had this brush pile since mid February. I talked with local FD and they said burn in a week or two. After 3 weeks I started to worry as soon there will be fire restrictions, like every year, due to dry brush. No burns of any kind starting in spring through to cool down in the fall.
Well Lovey works with a fire dept in nearby town and casually spoke with their fire chief. He spoke with local fire chief and presto they get it done next day. All good now though as they now know we are part of the fire social group. Next burn in December!
Good to know a “guy”

We used to burn an embankment between railroad tracks and the river in the fall, right after the train passed.
It would be dayglow green from the ash all summer long to hide the pot plants.
The train's brakes would usually set something afire along the route during the year anyway.
Torched some patches on small islands in the Potomac river also, that was easier. Do that right before a storm came in.
You ever hang out at Fletchers boat house? Used to fish the Potomac river all the time as a young man, especially during the shad run.

I have been there a few times, mostly walking along the canal. Its nice, you can rent boats and bicycles.
I used to hang out way upriver at White's Ferry along the canal, knew every inch of Bull Run and Pohick Bay below Fort Belvoir.
