Yesterday, I mentioned how we should be on the lookout for some wood now cause we are a few days away from breaking into the last pile of our fully seasoned stuff. This fact must be completely understood or nothing wonderous will come of the story I am about to relate.
Wait ... wrong intro.
Our power went out the other day and the cause turned out to be a white ash that fell on the power lines behind our friends garage. Nobody was harmed as they were inside when it came down. Those friends know I have a chain saw so they came a-calling this morning. A few hours and a pair of sawdust filled boots later ...

One of my ash trees fell down so I used it in my firepit. It was really acrid smelling for whatever reason.

I betcha the wood was developing some of those dark brown spongy spots in the centre. That shit has no strength for supporting the whole tree. And it never really dries out either.

Our company fired 2 people recently. Both were trying to get paid for napping at home all day, lol.
One was padding his hours blatantly, saying he was doing paperwork and work stuff at home all day, a few times.
We do service work, not more than a few hours a week of scheduling, emails.
The other one called in "sick", saying he was hurt on the job, but it's ok!
He could of just used his PTO and said his turtle died, or sick leave, didn't realize what he said.
Next day, he was sent to the health place to be cleared for work, failed the drug AND alcohol test, then confessed to playing hookey.
