To be fair, we are a powerhouse for women's golf in the state, John Hall had a lot to do with that, why we have that tournament. I regularly see women play from the white tees now and it's obvious why: they can really play. We always have a couple juniors who are top state ranked players. When I joined here 25 years ago, this club was a bunch of old men tottering around the course and playing pinochle and gin rummy. Then a luxury housing development occurred on the boundary of the course and we were overrun with families and private carts. Went private during covid and suddenly we have a waitlist 25 deep. I fit in better with the old club, sigh. It was more of the P.G Wodehouse atmosphere back then. Everything is too shiny and wholesome.
