Happy Sunday. I hope the holiday weekend is progressing as desired. It's flatout lovely here. Thinking about mothballing airconditioning for the season, the forecast is that nice.

What fresh hell is this
We played the Highlands yesterday and are going out again this am. Impossible to get a tee time here anytime but the dead of summer.
The snowbirds will be back soon, I'm wondering if we will see as many Canadians as in years past. The views here are stunning and the course is always in superb shape. The fairway in the foreground was supposed to be cart path only while they fix it because it is not up to snuff. Our playing partners ignored the signs and instructions from the starter.

We've had lots of cart restrictions this year but people don't read the signs. We've had lots of walking only days too, my personal favorite. People who live on the course and have personal carts are the worst. They drive across holes and anywhere they like and since the didn't see signs at the clubhouse or read their email from the pro shop, they don't know or care. I'm a diehard walker. Driving around searching for my cartmate's ball takes me out of my game worse than anything.

The course by the house is a classic example. I have seen "members" drive across a green.
The Highlands course has some of the most entitled self important snobs I have ever encountered. There it's the exact opposite, if you drive where you're not supposed to one of the neighbors will call the clubhouse.
For the most part on any course with "members" expect them to act entitled and pretty rude.

Too bad, as a group they are some of the most pleasant people around. I would say a quarter of our snowbirds are Canadian.

I've seen greater than 40% in the border towns. Vegas & Florida are basically empty.

I may have perfumed the neighborhood trimming outside. Neighbors are gone for the holiday, yay! That's my celebration.
