Holy moly, the black flies are here..I,m hiding in my van during lunch and taunting the swarm.
Blowing one hitters out the window real quick, then they pound on it for a while and go suck on the trim.
Not much else to do in the sticks for entertainment.

I know right? Dodging the flying critters counts in the boonies. I already felt a few mosquitos buzzing around me last night. Them skeeters and the black flies get to bug me for the next month or so - then we get the deer flies until early September.

I have to dodge mosquitos with EEE,they tested positive last year again in NH where my work shed is.
Almost died from it 10 years ago from catching it , never had a headache and fever so bad before.

I've had that too.
Didn't have much adverse reaction, luckily.
Tick borne disease is what I really watch out for now.

I don't wear shorts and I wear sunsleeves on my arms. My skin has received its max for lifetime exposure. Gardening I wear a widebrimmed hat, gloves, long sleeves. Even without sun to consider I'm sensitive to many plants.
