Sunday vibe. He spent a lot of time playing in the snow. He likes the snow, I think there might be something wrong with him!

I have one warm but very pissed off bird. The others are fine with freeze dried worms. No not Geisha she will only eat live worms, just about had her whole body in container trying to get worms, the only thing coming out was sawdust media they live in. I learned the hard way to put trimming/rolling table away before you feed worms to Geisha the media goes everywhere.
Every morning I shred carrots, corn nibblets and lettuce for the birds. I put down the bowel of corn Geisha comes out eats two or three bits of corn and goes back in cage to wait for rest. These birds are button Quail about the size of my fist if they don't puff up.
I ordered 24 more eggs need to change the ratio of females to males.
I tried to get more worms yesterday but traffic on Old Country Road that run by Roosevelt Field shopping mall was at a standstill. Went about a hundred yards in ten minutes so I gave up no worms for the bird.
Going to try back roads to that petco today, who wants a pouting female bird for the holidays....

Update I got worms.
Have very happy birds Geisha has had her fill. The giant mealworms she loves but has to swallow twice with some of the bigger ones.
I put a tray of mealworms in with Kamikaze and Sarge the female eats the worms as fast as she sees them Kamikize the male hold one worm in his beak until sarge grabs it. Then Kamikaze jumps on Sarge holding on to her head feathers as he does his thing....

When reading that first sentence I wasn’t expecting a pleasant outcome.

Would love to see your feather friends :giggle:

I will try to pull that off. The issue is my current Samsung phone will not share files with my PC, security is important. So trying to come up with a work around. Geisha is terrified of the phone had to get real good pictures of her, runs and hides behind the feeder or just turns around and points her butt at me. I try to get them hand tame but they are very resistant. Trying with if you peck finger I will give you a worm, only one will and she would peck my finger till she got a hole.

Admiral, Kamikaze and Colonel in the back.
Thanks for sharing the pics. They are beautiful birds. I know a few people who have raised quail for eggs and to sell but never just as pets. Are your birds working birds or family members. Regardless of how poorly I may have worded these statements I mean nothing disrespectful to you or the birds . Quail eggs make some of the best pickled eggs I’ve ever ate and I’m curious as to how you stand on things like pickling eggs or raising birds for harvest. I have quite a few friends with chickens who intended to just get some eggs but then the birds became like family and taking eggs is tuff .

They were to be working birds, but they didn't like squash bugs, lantern flies were to high on the crops for them to reach.
So they entered the category of spoiled birds, when I was out of service due to back injury friends would feed them daily out in the coop.
They don't care about eggs they have maternal instinct of fish they will peck at eggs if I forget to give them oyster shells.
The kick the eggs like soccer balls, saw one sit on a egg after she laid it for three minutes then she went to feed bin never back to the egg.
I am collecting some eggs from the female only cage for a friend up by Watkins Glen.
The eggs with male in cage will be put in incubator when I start my next run.
I am a heavy seafood person, not a big fan of poultry. I have offered a few to friends and the response was hard to eat birds that you have been introduced to on a first name basis.
So next I shred carrots, corn kernels and lettuce for there morning treat.....

Well you should have seen the up roar years ago on a garden forum.

I shot a bunch of birds on my property.
Great Blue Heron
and about 6 or 7 other types.

Forgot or maybe on purpose that I used a camera.....
We have one that just won't go away we put baby catfish, bass, sunfish and goldfish and five koi. He just catches the bass and leaves them on lawn. I scared it away other day and saw he had something in his mouth when flying hope it wasn't the koi couldn't really tell. Pond is iced over so no worries till spring. Decoys don't work either, fake wolf.

That’s the problem with us . We ( my wife mostly ) spoils any animal we get. I can’t even show her my catch when I go fishing, she says she can’t eat something after looking into it’s eyes.

This is Rocky a few minutes ago sleeping off Christmas dinner. I just noticed he's wearing his pants optional shirt.

@koikeeper This is Leucy Liu my one winged raven. She just finished her coiffure. What can I say, all dressed up for Christmas!

This is Baby. He's a sweetheart and he loves Leucy. I have to prep a run so Leucy can safely move between her huge ass cage and his aviary. He's flighted but a bit slow (had a very bad case of Avian Pox). But he survived and he and Leucy spend their lives together now.

He just finished a plate of macaroni and cheese with a couple Skittles for dessert. Don't worry Leucy got the same meal.
