Yesterday's Wednesday Chat was another great one!
We had an excellent turnout, a ridiculously close game and, for perhaps the first time in GrowDolls history...
THE SCORING APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY ACCURATE.
No points were stolen.
No incorrect answers were rewarded.
Nobody had to file an appeal.
The Championship Committee had the night off.
And somehow...
I WON!
I'd like to say my victory was the result of extensive preparation, superior knowledge and years of disciplined study.
It wasn't.
@Shane Karmann and @laddyd were both sitting just one point behind me heading into the final question.
Either one could have ruined everything.
Then Question #10 appeared.
And from the darkness emerged...
@Thurston.
Thurston grabbed the point.
Shane didn't get it.
Laddy didn't get it.
And just like that...
THE CHAMPIONSHIP WAS MINE.
Some people might call that backing into a victory.
Those people are jealous.
I prefer to recognize Thurston's contribution for what it was:
Outstanding championship-level defense.
Thank you for your service, sir.
Meanwhile, a huge welcome to @Ambz, who joined us for her first Wednesday Chat!
It was awesome having an old friend join the chaos, and hopefully we didn't frighten her away.

I'm not making any promises.
Yesterday was National Dog Day, so I suggested to @curious2garden that dogs might make a fun trivia theme.
Annie took that suggestion.
Then added cannabis.
Which sounded perfectly reasonable...
...until about halfway through the game when I realized we'd accidentally created:
HOW TO POISON YOUR DOG: THE HOME GAME
Chocolate?
Bad.
Cannabis?
Bad.
Edibles?
Definitely bad.
By the end of the evening I wasn't sure whether we were playing trivia or studying for an emergency veterinary medicine exam.
In fairness, it was educational.
I now feel considerably better prepared should one of my dogs ever eat an unattended brownie.
I'm just not entirely sure that's what National Dog Day organizers had in mind.
So congratulations to everyone on another fantastic Wednesday night.

There are so many pictures I want to show that are great that I snapped but this one in particular is my favorite. Sunrise today.this place is an absolute trip. The lighting is always changing every thing.

Tonight also happens to be the anniversary of the Great Fire of London, which began on September 2, 1666 — so we'll be starting there and then seeing what else humanity has managed to accidentally burn, bury, flatten or otherwise completely screw up throughout history.

Another great turnout for Wednesday Chat last night, with @Ambz joining us again!
In honour of the Great Fire of London, trivia took us through some of history's greatest fires and disasters — and it turns out the greatest disaster of the evening was letting @Shane Karmann play historical trivia.
It was an absolute bloodbath.
By Question #6, Shane had already secured the win. The rest of us were essentially playing an exhibition match while Shane took a leisurely victory lap.
Nobody else managed more than one point.
Nobody.
Apparently we've finally discovered Shane's natural habitat.
There was also some concern going into the evening about the integrity of the competition. I'm pleased to report that despite your Host being slightly overserved on dabs, every point was awarded to the correct person, no correct answers were accidentally declared wrong, nobody had a point stolen, and the tiebreaker remained safely unused.
It was flawless officiating.
Naturally, this immediately led @curious2garden to accuse me of rigging the entire game for Shane.
Several quiet cries of RIGGED were also heard throughout the evening.
The GrowDolls Championship Committee has reviewed these allegations and found absolutely no evidence that the game was intentionally designed for Shane.
We simply chose history, gave it to the guy who is ridiculously good at historical trivia, and watched helplessly as he slaughtered everyone.
Completely different.
Congratulations to @Shane Karmann on a thoroughly dominant and, pending any new allegations, completely legitimate victory!
As for my next hosting night, I've learned an important lesson.
No more subjects Shane knows things about.
We're going back to nonsense.
