Do you use PK Boosters?

Curious to hear your thoughts and experiences with PK boosters.

When I first started growing, I was using them without really knowing what I was doing. Honestly, they didn’t seem to make much of a difference at the time. Someone over on RIU suggested I drop the additives and just stick to base nutrients while I focused on learning the fundamentals. That advice stuck with me.

Now, six years later, I’m giving PK boosters another shot—and the results have been shocking in the best way.

This round, I started using them as soon as I transitioned into flower. I began with Liquid KoolBloom, and just switched over to Dry KoolBloom for a final two-week push before tapering.

Same cut as my last grow, but what a difference. Last time, she finished decent—not exactly a chunky girl. But this run? She hit flower faster, and the buds are already bigger now—with three weeks left to go—than they were at harvest last time.

Would love to hear from others—do you use PK boosters? Got a favorite brand or strategy? Or do you skip them altogether?

I added PK booster with Megacrop1P the last two grows and I agree the PK boosters do add to the outcome as long as it isn't excessive.
I read the bag I have of this stuff and it says not to use for food or drugs. Only for agricultural use. Then read people saying they had there Flowers tested with higher metal content. I know tons of people that use it with great results, just kinda confused why they said that with agricultural only.

Something like kelp flakes might not be sterilized for human consumption, or citric acid and epsom salts not handled or stored for human use.
People buy stuff cheap at the feed store, think they can eat it at home.

i dont use bloom boosters but they do interest me. has anyone done an apples to apples comparison? for example, two exact runs all the same clones taken at the same time exact number of days of veg. with similar nutrients like general hydros 3 part with an without bloom boosters added. then total weights of dried flower after each run to compare.

Bloom boosters works for some strains. From my experience, the plants/strains that are heavy yielders will definitely produce more with bloom boosters.

With low yielding plants you wont really notice a difference.

... has anyone done an apples to apples comparison? ...
Yes - two times. I figured that would be a true comparison cause I grow the same two strains in the exact same environment each time. So much so that I know I'll yield 12 oz. each harvest.

Medium, bucket size, lighting, temps, air flow, water pH and frequency ... my grows are literally rinse and repeat.

Remo nutes throughout the grow are GROW, BLOOM, MAGNIFICAL & MICRO. Those nutes on their own do a good job.

Their supplements are ASTROFLOWER (PK boost), NATURE'S CANDY (amino acids) & VELOKELP (seaweed extract.)

First time, I added AF & NC to the mix. Beefier bud for sure with those two nutes. Next time, I tossed in some VK - starting in VEG. Even bigger bud ... and an even better buzz to.

I found adding those three supplements beefed things big time.

what was the weight difference like

Wanted to circle back to this thread now that I've completed a grow with PK boosters.

I ran the same strain twice in a row. La Bomba by compound genetics. Nutrients were the same GH Flora but this grow I was using liquid and dry koolbloom.

What I noticed is the plant entered flower faster with and always seemed a week or two ahead of the plants that were not boosted.
Bud density structure, and volume was noticeably improved. This crop is hard as rocks lol.
I didn't notice any change in potency or flavour.

I will be running pk boosters going forward.

Just arrived today. I already have the dry formula.

nice so general hydros 3 part with liquid cool bloom did you just wing it on the amounts or did you follow a chart online? also why did you run both dry and liquid was there a reason for that?

When I flip I run equal parts gro and bloom for the first week then switch to bloom feed. At that res change I started liquid kb at 2ml per gallon and worked up to 3ml per gallon by the time I had three weeks left. I then switched to dry kb .75g per gallon for the first week then went to 1g per gallon for the second week. I went a little below their recommended dosage on both liquid and dry since these are so concentrated. Especially the dry KB

Liquid is 0-10-10 dry is 2-45-28

GH recommends Liquid KB throughout flower, and dry for the last couple weeks of ripening.

KoolBloom® is part of a blooming feeding regimen. We recommend starting with Liquid Koolbloom during the early stages of blooming following feed chart instructions. Switch to KoolBloom® only during the last 1-2 weeks of flowering to promote ripening in plants.
