Main work do e but we are currently in dh-hell waiting for my diodes which have been rerouted on tour in Spain -need them to finish building the blue channel. But everything else works great and i think we put together a pretty light.

How many Led pucks are going on that channel?

How many watts will that fixture be?
Think he's got a blue turbocharger to still stick on it . :eyesmoke:
640w possible over a 4x4 but with some extra blue/uv/veg on tap.

Main light is two groups of strips; one straight 2700k 90 cri (extra red heavy spectrum) with 3x660nm reds, the other group is a mix of two 9
Warm white 90cri spectrums and 2x680 + 1 660 in each cluster. Each of these gets a 320 driver for 6 strips each. These are some very extreme flowering spectrums with upwards to 60-65% reds and they need a bit of extra blue to veg well. So on top of that one wide mixed blue/veg/uv channel of 150w over 120 diodes, in 30 x4up pcbs. So about 800w max but i doubt they will ever be used at absolute max. The 120 diodes are organized in 30 4up leds organized in 6 strings of 5.

Each diode here is run at or under its nominal current (350mA for monos, 65mA for whites) so they run even softer than a diablo board on 120w.

And finally some uvb, got 2ups for 285 and 310nm. 8 in total.

The only problem is that the package is doing some globetrotting; in the last few days it was only touring spain but now they are in Leipzig Germany for some reason. Cant make this shit up...

Im going to have to return here in two weeks to get the rest setup cause no way the package will arrive for tomorrow.

I stopped counting a couple hits back :eyesmoke:

Wait?! This might be why I fall asleep on chat nights

That light looks awesome!
Im very happy with looks, design and general spec; i had a bit of a scare re light levels on the first go: it was coming out fairly low but we managed to test with reflective tent and all was good; 1200ppfd instead of 900ish.

This light is custom built to my friends needs; flower light but with late veg potential and tons of blue yo keep plants short.

The tent really made the difference. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing this build with us.
The more you spread out your fixture is the less intensity is generated. This fixture has a third of its wattage concentrated to the edges, hence lower readings in opens space.
The DHL night mare is still ongoing, this is the second time ive been asked to pay customs fees that ive already paid. MFers are too much. Ive been assured that it would move now but im literally "Yee of little faith" by now.

Back again at my buddies place to finish up the light. Got all the blue/uv channel as well as uvb 310/285nm set up after a lot of grueling soldering. No snags there, except that the mono-pcb had a litte too loose fit, but managed. Got everything wired thru wagos and a 8 way caravan cable to external drivers.
IMG20260407121129.webp

The drivers was the snag. From a lot of trying back and forth were getting that the drivers arent at full output and needs to be reprogrammed something we have failed to do. We got 2 meanwell drivers on order; right now with one 320 driver + the 150w blue gives around 900ppfd. If we add another driver for one for each side it goes up with maybe 50ppfd. Its like they are haunted 😂 in any case 2 meanwell xlgs should give us our desired 1200 ppfd.

Here hanging with full blues for veg mode.

With some 16 plants under. This first run isnt perfectly prepared but there are a few cloned phenos in doubles, which will end up going each one side of the tent for comparison. Left hand side has 660, 2x 680nm and mixed 2700k 90cri/s90 whites right hand side has straight 2700k 90cri,3x660 ; a spectrum ive seen growing for a few years, a baseline comparison which should on paper be the more efficient electrically.

Right now they are in veg mode for very high blues and really short internodes.

It looks crazy purple in the photos, i hadnt realized until posting this out.
I gotta get the spectrum shots out my buddies spectrometer.

Opened up the tent to very happy looking flowers.

Leaves all stretched out with nice new green.
Spectrum shots:
Left side , 680 heavy

Middle, both side mixed.

Righthand side, 660 heavy.

Next for the tent will be some cleanup and cloning action, and getting doubled up phenos divided and placed to each side.
We also gave them a quick once over with uvb channel.
Edit: bonus shot of cable management. I know it looks a bit messy, but you should have seen before we tidied up, 😂
All 4 channels total goes to an 8way cable to the drivers outside.

And a pic of the trunk development.
IMG20260408103435.webp
Finger sized trunks on really small plants, this grow is going to be fantastic. Previous grows with the old setup in the 1m2 tent has yielded +800g so were hoping for +1000g on this first run from 16 plants.

Are you going to prune to restrict branching? I would need at least 2 tents for that many plants!
Its not my grow, its my mates but yes, theres a lot of work to do- pruning and cloning season, they will get cleaned up a bit on lowers before final push into flower.
Previously he ran the same setup of 16x in a 1m; this is 1.20 so theres actually more room than usual, lol. They wont get tall and big, he grows smaller plants in SOG with plants optimised for this style from his breeding programme.

In these spectrum shots theres a uv peak not showing around 365 which would be close to half the size of the tallest peak in screen, this really is a crazy amount of blue but we want as little stretch as possible.

My buddy got the new drivers in and weve tried out full power measurements:
All measurements are around 25 /10" down fron tge light and with door open which lowers the intensity by about 100ppfd

Everything on full - with door closed.

Happy plants with no blurple light
IMG-20260417-WA0016.webp

Blue cannopy - just like the blurple looking photos this looks a little less blur and more white in reallife, tgeres a bunch of cold white diodes baked into the spectrum

Very happy about light levels, after all the trouble with the old drovers, and how the spectrum worked out.
