Week 3 in the test grow
1300ppfd going for 1400 if weather permits. Everything looks very nice and homogenous with little difference between sides. Connecting buds.
And back here at mine im busy drilling profiles for another light like last one, different spectrum and monos but same 12 strip build. Dimmers, leds and drivers all sourced, build day is monday or tuesday.

Oops, i think i missed the 4 week update so here we are with 5 week update:
1300ppfd /35 days/1.3 vpd.
Buds look chunky and close to finishing. Theres been some thrip damage but not too bad. Currently at 12:45h light /11:15 dark. About 2 weeks left.
Lightbuilding: didnt get to finish it last week so im away tomorrow onsite to do some final soldering and installing.

Thx bill, dropping updates here and there, hopefully next cycle my buddy will come on and post but not sure where we will end up, GD/riu/the mag.
Next up hopefully, if aliexpress keeps their shipping dates, will have a new element: real infrared leds, wanting to try 850/810/940 and 970nm in some different combos.

I thought it was around 815? In any case, the ir diodes tend to be not very spikey at all, cover a fairly broad range. The idea is to test out 850 and 940, just cause they are somewhat previously tested - 810 to sort of target that hps spike (it may give far red response somewhat), 970 in order to target the water abortion spectrum to simulate drought stress and see if there is anything cool activated : drought and over transpiration may induce extra wax and trichomes. I dont know but i wanna see it tested
luckily my tester buddy is very much into trying stuff out- we are both into the diy aspect so the quest for the ultimate led grow light is very much on

Here we go again, another tester light setup. Unfortunately i wasnt really able to document the process, as always theres quite a bit of press for time. Stats and dimensions: same as last time: 950mm cross bars with 50x1000 mm sidebars of T-profile for a 1m x 1m light (the space is a 5x5.
Components
6x strips 2700k 90cri samsung lm281b+ pro + 640, 660, 420nm monos
6 strips 2700k 90cri /r90 cri splitt, 640,680,405nm.
Strips are reasonably spread out to mix for a wide red boost with a wide blue/violet boost. 2x320 drivers, Sosen brand. Had a bit of problems programming the drivers for voltage /current but managed after getting the right software version
Now that i actually see the pics i took, they look crazy red/blurple (Again!
) its so hard to get white balance right with my camera.
Extra bloom booster channel: 12x4up ledstars: 2x640, 680, 400nm in each 4 up ledstar. 75w xlg-75L-AB - both for boosting yield and quality, balanced red boost between 640 and 680nm. About 6w per ledstar.
As blurple as it gets, irl you can actually see phosphorescence on white surfaces.
There is another uva string, 365nm 12 diodes that can be added to the flower boost or added separately; we left it out for focusing on yield and awaiting a separate driver.
Both on at the same time:
The only pic i managed to get from building:
Assembly was a bit messy with so many strings and wires but after hanging we did a good job with cable management.
My new tester will evaluate this light for a cycle or two; if he doesnt like it its for my own future tent.

Second test grow is up and running
2 strains, Dulce de Uva and Red Halo (3 phenos). Currently in veg, switch to flower is tomorrow. My tester got a better camera than mine and got a good sense of photographic framing:
Ppfd: 380 on top, 300 from bottom lights.
Flower booster is still off for now. This grow has added far red End of Day / EOD - my tester is hoping for 8 week cycle (normally 9) which i find very likely. Looking forwards to this one, its more local to me so should be able to do a midcycle visit.
