How I am going to Grow a Plant in a Solo Cup of CRH Using a Peat Pod Starter.
I will start by placing and seed in a moistened peat pod and keep it in a warm, bright spot.
Once the seed germinates and the seedling develops its first true leaves, it’s ready to transplant. I will prepare a Solo cup by poking drainage holes in the bottom, then fill it with carbonized rice hulls (CRH). Make a small hole in the CRH and gently place the entire peat pod into it. Then lightly pack the CRH around the pod to keep it stable.
Water until the CRH is evenly moist. Since CRH doesn’t contain nutrients, begin feeding with a diluted liquid fertilizer. I plan on using a liquid fish fertilizer. As the plant matures I'm going to change the fertilizer.
I will need to set up automation for feed and water due to the fact CRH dries out quickly and will not retain moisture as well. I plan to not pH test the water unless necessary.
I will keep my plants in the Solo cups growing one single Bud per cup. This is will be in a 2x2 tent using my 150w Vipar light.
