Random Stream of Consciousness

I think my fb has been hacked. I'm getting tactical soap ads.

:ROFLMAO:

My backyard garden sits on clay soil, and I've been building up the organic matter in beds... the yard is sloped as is my neighbors, and after some heavy rains the past few days and seeing the streams of water rolling through the garden, it's time to use that to my advantage. I'm going to channel the water to sit around the raised beds and be wicked up by the beds as things dry out. I have wood chips all around the beds and I'm hoping they bake into the soil as the summer goes on, then slowly build a soil biology network. I've started to grow dutch white clover between the beds for nitrogen (and barefoot walking) I'm hoping in the long term the mycorrhizal network will provide nitrogen and hold more water and the roots improve the soil. Now I need to wait for another heavy rain to observe the flow of water and any pooling then adjust the flow, I'm thinking some logs or cut wood to build the channel walls and build the soil around that... now the waiting starts.

Can you catch it in rain barrels?

How fast are you drying it and if it's fast can you slow it down a bit?
Typically it's about 5-7 days dry. I don't pray to the 60/60 Gods as its just not attainable in November in Toronto. It will hold about 16C & 50%RH which is pretty close. Cure in glass jar w/ hygrometer and normal burp schedule. Nothing unique.

I'm hopeful this slate of Silent Seeds gets me there. Your GG last year was the punchiest and it came down a touch early because weather was getting shitty....

I have a 275 gallon rain barrel and a 55 gallon barrel.. the 55 I use for liquid feeds in the garden. I use the 275 to feed the 55, and also 2 - 90 gallon aquariums in my basement for my flowerz... I try to keep them all full aside from the 275, mother nature takes care of that, except she can be fickle in the summer months. I thought about making some sort of ground container and using a pump to water, but it's not a constant problem and if I can redirect the water to pool a bit in specific areas it might work. I hope to find out this summer.

Preaching to the choir, lol. That's a lot of water.

I had a similar experience not long ago with Paradise Seeds Cheese IBL. @curious2garden, @Shane Karmann and I grew them out from different breeders. Mine turned out garbage. weak and almost no flavour, like smoking hay.
