What I learned from getting pumpkins at Willowtree Farms over the years - goats love belly scratches as much as dogs do.

Good morning, happy Monday. Felt kinda crappy yesterday so I took a break from the interwebs. Decided to transplant my plants around 10am and finished around 9pm No urgency.

Goats have a smell I can't get past

After the last grow I just turned out the lights and closed the tent. So that had to be cleaned, tray needed a citric acid bath, res needed to be cleaned and filled and my guardian needed to be calibrated. Then I could start transplanting.

OK with the smell of horses and cows and pigs and goats ... but not chicken coops.

Chickens don't have that musky stank. I almost got one years ago because it was really cool. But my hands stunk for two days and I couldn't wash it off no matter how hard I scrubbed

I use the deep litter method in the chicken coop. It's basically 1' deep of wood shavings and they poop on it, and it gets turned. Pretty much a compost pile that doesn't smell that bad and keeps them warm in the winter. Only have to change it out once or twice a year. Very low maintenance.
