Giant rhubarb we found on yesterdays adventure.

Who comes up with these ideas and more importantly who is the guinea pig that ate the first slice of pie?

That is a crazy bad logo. It would be better if it was seven of those jerks.
Without researching I'd have to assume it's some wartime or depression era thing, when real food was scarce.

The best pie I ever had was a huckleberry pie, in the damn boonies. I dont even remember what town I was in, but the lady who worked at this tiny post office sold her homemade pies. I was super confused how it was legal to do that... But whatever. The pie was delicious
There was a place in D'iberville Mississippi that made the best tamales. The lady had a little storefront and that's all she made. She didn't even look Hispanic. I grabbed some on a whim on my way home, best gamble I made down there.Agreed. Rhubarb pie is gross.

I think that's burdock. Marginally edible. Makes a huge tap root. I am at war with it atm. Here's some just over my back fence. One in flower.

Had to google that. I think you're right. There were several burrs around it on the ground
They really seem the same at first. I shouldn't have told my rasta neighbor the roots were edible. He's insane about growing anything edible or smokeable. Maybe he gets a taste for it and digs mine up too.
