It's playing in my head now and I fear it may never stop. I just earwormed my wife 2 rooms away and she yelled at me. I shouldn't have to suffer alone.
Not sure why but soon after we touched on the wonders of Johnny Winter and Frankenstein, "Hey Mickey" jumped into the brain bucket. And now I can't get THAT one out of the noodle!

But this is one that I will suffer in solitude.

This recipe seems stupid easy. Not using jarred chiles, I'll roast my own.

I learned my chile roasting game is nonexistent. It's raining, didn't want to get the grill going so I googled oven roasted chiles. Well, I roasted for so long the flesh was deeply cooked and peeling them was a nightmare. Also, a pound of poblanos and anaheims roasted made about a cup and a quarter of roasted peppers and I needed 2. I can see the value of using a propane torch to get quick blistering without making the insides dissolve. Southwestern cooking is still terra nueva for me. Anyway, it's in the oven. Smells good.

IF you have a gas stove you can roast them over the flame then put them in a paper bag. They will sweat in the bag then the skin peels right off.
