Last night’s chat featured one of the closest trivia battles we’ve had in a while… and naturally ended in controversy.

Congratulations to @Starecase on the win and his SECOND straight trivia title. However… records will show he left early despite having more points than remaining questions.

Which raises serious competitive integrity concerns.

Many people are saying his back-to-back championship deserves an asterisk.
I’m not saying that…
…but many people are.

Meanwhile @curious2garden and @Milky Weed finished only two points behind in a very respectable showing.

And yes — for everyone keeping score at home:
A TIEBREAKER QUESTION WAS READY.

Unused.
Prepared.
Waiting.

Perhaps I can loan this mysterious “11th question technology” to @curious2garden for one of her future hosting nights.

@Shane Karmann officially broke his skunk streak, proving that perseverance, determination, and randomly yelling letters can eventually pay off.

Huge shoutout to @Rocket Soul for joining us for his first Wednesday chat! Unfortunately he attempted trivia on mobile, which in Siropu Chat is roughly equivalent to trying to trim with oven mitts on.

@DarkWeb believes I cheated him out of a point.
I did not.
BUT…
the fact he immediately suspected corruption tells me I may be onto something for a future game format.
Still rigged.

And finally @laddyd consumed enough edibles to temporarily leave our dimension, yet still managed to grab a point before ascending to the astral plane.

Nota bene: I think it's fair to note that Starecase and I had teamed up so that is a shared win!! Somewhere in the 8 th inning @Milky Weed chose @Shane Karmann for his team and SC and I paired up. So that's our win

As for that pesky 11th question you keep worrying about I'm wondering where this data you mine is going??? Is there a secret Canadian society gaining guidance from these questions? I am concerned!

Finally our Spiking showed up @Rocket Soul who I still need to apologize for for my fingers inability to type guell and instead typing barca over and over! What can I say I was strunk. Anyway I had great fun see you all next Wednesday when it's my turn to set things sane again!

Tonight is historic because at midnight we begin the Great Migration.

As a result, @curious2garden will be stepping away from hosting duties and joining us as a civilian.

– no authority
– no ability to forget a tiebreaker question

Honestly, I'm excited for her.

Meanwhile:

@Starecase remains the reigning champion, though reports indicate he is currently vacationing in beautiful British Columbia. Whether he chooses to defend his title or spend the evening enjoying mountains, scenery, and fresh air instead of trivia remains to be seen.

Some champions run toward the pressure.
Others conveniently schedule vacations.

@DarkWeb continues his independent investigation into alleged scorekeeping corruption.

No no ... I wouldn't ever shy away from a title defence. Been there done that ... BOOM-SHACKA-LACKA!!

I like hanging with you blokes ... but looking at the itineray (ary ar-i-ooo) both Wednesdays in the late afternoon we will be sauteeing ourselves in some local hot springs.
