Bob Bitchen’s Beans Community Journal.

This time around I have purchased a couple of 23" x 3" deep square trays. The plan is to flood the trays and bottom water. I'm thinking I'll set up the timer and come up with a watering schedule of some sort. I will have to cull down to 12 plants when I transplant to final pots. I'm thinking 3 rows of 3 in each tray. New math with integers and functions and shit, feels like 12.
Once again using GH products. Starting with Maxigrow segueing into Maxibloom with some Koolbloom towards the end. Medium is Sunshine mix #4 with extra perlite for better drainage. Walmart still has a few bales of Pro-Mix from 2020 so naw, need some fresher dirt than that, Sunshine mix it is.
We got 2 viparspectra XS 1500 lights in a 2' x 4' x 5.5' tent. I'm counting on them to provide some heat. When we go to 12-12 we'll run the lights at night and use a space heater as needed during the day. Humidity remains a concern. I find if I get enough pots in there it will keep the humidity in an acceptable range.
Let the fun begin.

Every dang seed I put on water sprouted. I expected some duds but nope they all sprouted. I have 30 plants, going to have to pare that down to 18. I think I will put the extra plants outside and see how they do.
They are languishing, not sure what I did wrong but I'm guessing a combination of poor drainage and under nourishing them.
I'm going to do a transplant into some better mixed soil on Monday.

Just one really looks fussy, really curious about that kosher Kush.

I got 13 transplanted today and a semblance of a plan for the other 17. The sickly one I transplanted and moved outside.
The root balls looked better than the plants. Got the 2 slymers, gelato 41, blue cheese, some dancing lime, mint cake and a kosher kush in their final pots. I opened a fresh bale of sunshine mix #4, nice! I'm adding a mix of rice hulls and perlite at a ratio of 6 scoops of dirt to 1 scoop of perlite and 1 scoop of rice hulls. Also sprinkling some dynomyko in the hole. I think they'll like the new dirt, it was moist and loamy, drainage is good.
