Bluelab EC Truncheon

Ordered a new tool, looks a little more practical for reservoirs and larger batches.
Easier to use running in and outside without losing a probe cap in the dirt etc.
Runs up to 6.0 EC
Anyone ever use these before?

For me the Bluelab Guardian is great. I like continuous monitoring of my res. The wifi version isn't necessary. AC Infinity has moved into integrating water monitoring and automated adjustments recently.

i have a bluelab box that does a stik for ec and temp, and another glass tipped probe for checking substrate, and phing water. its alil specal in the fact that it can be stuck into the substrate to monitor ph.

They recommend cleaning the electrode once a month, rinse it after each use...that's it.

its been goin strong for about 3 years, never had to even change the probe yet, just calibration once a year and i usually forget to do that too!

Mostly I want to use it outdoors, pain bringing the portable meter out and keeping it clean.
Don't know how many times the cap rolled away in a breeze, fell off in the travels, or got grass on it.
Easier to bring a bucket of stock solution and dillute it outside, or just mix it outside.

im sure you will be passing it on as a family keepsake heirloom.
if it dosent use electricity, its likely indestructable. and if it does, looks pretty durable anyways.

I've been using this 4 months now, so much easier than an EC meter, just have to watch the blinky light.
Makes a good mixing stick, retired my broom handle and EC meter.
Added an elastic band to make it easy to see the target # while mixing.
Don't have to stop mixing to see which light is on now.
