I've been cleaning out all my storage spaces. Decided I really didn't need the case my cordless drill came with so I put it on the curb. The number of big ass pickup trucks that stopped to grab it then realized it was empty and threw a dirty look at my house made me realize it was a mean trick I didn't mean to play. I took it inside.

One of our neighbours is moving into a retirement community. It’s an apartment so they have to downsize. They had a beautiful grandfather clock that’s been maintained and works great. None of their family wanted it.

They asked me and of course I said yes!

reminds me of the Christmas I found out a sewing machine is not a better present than jewelry.

Welcome to the weighted mechanical clock club! We have a standing Grandfather as well as wall mounted one and even a cuckoo clock. We love them but they can be a pain to maintain. I clean and oil them yearly even though they are not used year around. I fire them up a certain times when guest are here. They are not for everyone as I usually have to stop them once someone is visibly annoyed with the chimes or cuckoo. Lots of fun to be had by all!

The cuckoo might be too much for me, but I’d love it as decoration. The chimes aren’t very loud or annoying. I got it on Saturday, my partner had no idea and didn’t notice it until the chimes went off. 😁

I love the softened corners of your walls and trim.

Depends on the machine. This was a present from a couple years back. I was so happy. Then again I do quilting and machine embroidery so I had admired it in front of him many times. I adore useful things like my Levo Oil maker Shane sold me on and my tablesaw my dad sold me on and well you get the picture.

What tablesaw? :p

I have a Rockwell Unisaw from the 1970s. I even rebuilt it down to it's trunions. I love that thing. I have an Incra TS-LS fence on her and changed out my left side table for a router table. It's fabulous.
All that top flight equipment at high school wood shops got tossed when the internet came out, no one knows how to run a bandsaw anymore.

I don't agree with that. One of the reasons I bought here was choice of school. And right now we are figuring out where my daughter will go. Being creative and very handy in a shop I looked at the shop/vocational side of things as far as school goes. I was very impressed with the one school and even more impressed with the other. As a matter of fact the second school I've worked on large design projects with the guy in charge. He is top notch in architecture and design. And we have work all over the country and world. And it's been a high-school for almost 200 years now.

Very cool you have great schools from which to choose. I know my old school cut out shop classes due to liability issues. Not sure what happened to all that equipment but it was extensive with decades long wood, metal and auto shop classes. I know government usually charges 10 cents on the dollar or less for purchase of their old equipment but imagine schools would be a little more frugal.
