Upcoming Rule Change: Seed Trading on GrowDolls

Beginning October 1, 2026, GrowDolls will no longer permit members to offer, request, buy, sell, give away, or trade cannabis seeds through our community.

This rule applies across the entire GrowDolls site—including forum posts, chat, profiles, and private conversations—and applies to all members regardless of where they live. GrowDolls may not be used to arrange or facilitate seed transactions.

We know seed sharing has been a positive part of cannabis culture, and this isn’t a change we’re excited to make. However, the legal and regulatory landscape is changing, and protecting GrowDolls and the people responsible for it must come first. We want this community to remain safe, stable, and available for many years to come.

From October 1 through November 11, we’ll treat this as a transition period. We’ll remove seed-trading content when we see it and remind members of the new rule so everyone has time to adjust.

Beginning November 12, 2026, the rule will be strictly enforced, and violations may result in formal moderation action.

Members are still welcome to discuss genetics, breeders, seed germination, preservation, and their experiences growing particular cultivars. This change applies specifically to arranging or facilitating the exchange of seeds through GrowDolls.

We discussed alternatives, but decided the rule will be implemented site wide. Our audience is 95% American so it didn't make sense or seem fair to have a carve out for members outside the US.

i'm surprised we cant obfuscate site ownership and move the physical server beyond the reach of the courts. i duno about you guys but the early days of the internet are over and i find it difficult to determine site ownership these days using a basic whois request on my computer and even most websites that log the transfers of web domains as they are bought and sold often aren't accurate. most servers these days hide behind cloudflare for obvious reasons so its difficult to determine the true ip address of anything these days. should maby start a topic on internet privacy. on the 21st the what i like to call the internet spy bill will be going to the senate and will be likely become law that may also apply to this website depending on how that law is interpreted. i would strongly suggest getting an iphone for imessage (end to end encryption) proton mail for email also end to end encryption servers in switzerland. also buy a gli.net flint 2 router pair that with a private ip from privateinternetaccess to wrap your whole network behind a vpn then use a raspberry pi for a network tunnel from your cell phone to your home network so your hidden behind a vpn while out and about with your phone.
