The province took away speed cameras. Guess the city didn't like losing that gravy.

Cause folks spray painted or put duct tape over the openings on the ground level cameras. We had one in front of a school area on Reach St and the natives gave it the business. A new one was put in it's place and within 2 days, more paint and duct tape.
We haven't seen one since.

I got hit by a red light camera it was almost $300. What pissed me off is I didn't run the light, I made a right hand turn but I didn't come to a full stop.
Seems kinda scammy. I had no clue and thought they were only for those running a red light. I get tons of parking tickets, but I don't consider them real tickets. Just parking fee.
How Red Light Cameras Work on Right Turns
- The Complete Stop Rule: You must bring your vehicle to a complete, dead stop before the stop bar or crosswalk line.
- Rolling Stops: A "rolling stop" or slowing down significantly without the wheels stopping completely will still trigger the camera.
- Where You Stop Matters: Stopping past the stop bar (such as directly in the pedestrian crosswalk) can still result in a violation.
- Demerit Points: Red light camera tickets are issued to the registered owner of the license plate rather than a specific driver, meaning no demerit points are added to your driving record, and it does not affect your auto insurance

Yeah, when the Province mandated away speed cameras, that's a very large revenue stream the City lost.
Speed mitigation is coming in the form of Roundabouts apparently…
I expect to see more enforcement around here. I'm across the street from a middle and elementary.

When the speed cameras went away I went back to doing 60.
I like roundabouts better than four way stops.

They are marvey when all participants used them as directed. But The Populous still treat them EXACTLY like a 4 way stop. Western Drivers couldn't handle the bigger roundabouts in places like France, Belgium or The Bahamas. Case & point - head to Markham Rd. and Bloomington Rd to see how North Americans totally fuck up a 2 lane roundabout.

They all have another week out there. I leave for Halifax on the 23rd for the weekend.
Crazy rain and winds tonight & tomorrow, so to the garage & greenhouse they will go. Then, we have 5 straight days of sunshine so hoping they can finish strong.
