Freaks, assemble!

Annie hosted last night and brought 12 Halloween questions plus a tiebreaker. A tiebreaker! From Annie! Pigs are flying, the veil is thinning, and I’m checking the calendar to make sure it’s still October 1.

I went in expecting pumpkins and candy. Annie went with ancient Celtic festivals. Apparently Halloween’s origins are associated with Samhain, which I now know is B. I did not know that last night. 👻

Since I was playing outside on my phone, I decided to simplify my strategy: answer C to everything and trust the odds. This morning I investigated the answer key:

A: 5 · B: 5 · C: 2 · D: 0

That’s right. My two points were the entire supply of C for the evening. I’m not saying the game was RIGGED, but I will be submitting these findings to DarkWeb for review. Choosing D would have been worse, so I’m counting this as sound judgment. 😂

Laddy, apparently undisturbed by the spirits or Annie’s questions, took another commanding win with 6. Shane finished with 3, I scraped together 2, and DMChiz and DW each grabbed 1.

Thanks to Annie for a fabulous spooky kickoff and to everyone who came out for the laughs. Next week I’m bringing a four-sided die.

Trivia starts tonight at 8 pm ET, and I still haven’t decided what it’s about. So we’ll all find out together, possibly at the same time.

Annie broke the mold last week with 13 questions. How am I supposed to top that? Fourteen? Fifteen? Where does it end? At this rate we’ll need an intermission and a snack table.

Also, A and B got plenty of love last week, so I’m thinking C and D deserve some attention tonight. Please do not mistake this for a reliable hint. 😉

Laddy returns as our reigning champion, but I hear he made brownies yesterday. This could be everyone’s chance. See you tonight!

@Shane Karmann is taking the host’s chair tonight, and he’s been putting together his trivia the old-fashioned way: with actual effort. I am trying not to take that personally. 😂

I’ve heard a rumour that inventions and inventors might make an appearance. Of course, Shane is in charge, so please don’t spend all afternoon studying the history of the toaster and blame me if the theme changes.

Join us at 8 pm ET for trivia, laughs, and the chance to discover who among us knows far too much about something unexpectedly specific.

I know everything there is to know about the incipient toaster rebellion. Gotta keep your eye on those tricksy things.

WHAT? It's the pagers, they are behind everything! They started to convert the fax machines and the printers long before they got your dumb toaster.
Ive always considered the printers as the main ringleaders here, the Machines behind the machines.

I have it from a reliable source that when Rage against the Machine was formed it was the printers they were referring to - and the Killings was actually in the name of Hewlet-Packard.
Imagine that, an ink cartridge replacement was responsible for one of the Greats of rock history.

Ill take any excuse to drop this meme, say you were a teen of the 90ies without saying it.

That song gets me amped up!
It is beyond that, its like a frigging force of nature, unbridled energy. I was hoping for better footage and maybe even be able to get a glance of myself but crowd shot footage is naturally very messy during this song- 30 years ago a very baby Rocket Soul stood in the first line crushed up against the fence on this concert, which to this day is one of the highlights of my life in music.

So cool! I envy you. They're a little before my time, but killing in the name of and bulls on parade are a regular part of my workout.

Tom Morello is one of the nicest people alive.
