Sorry for the downtime everyone! We experienced a server failure late last night and the site had to be migrated to a new server.

Everything should be back up and running now.

I did some searching and it doesn't look like there's an option for integrating with xenforo where it uses xf accounts and doesn't require a download.

You can just set it up as a normal group chat, but peeps might be edgy about privacy: i think you need an email or number or something for joining

I don't know if anyone is old enough to remember IRC (internet relay chat). But it's where a number of engineers still hang out today and it's a good chat vehicle. We could really use something like that and you can always install your own IRC chat server for private use and I'm betting it could be integrated with XF.

That's one reason I was so happy to take us to a private server of our own. It gives us a lot more flexibility to do things like that. I'm betting whatever we decide and by we I mean all of us, chat will work a lot better in a place where we no longer share resources. So we'll see what next Wednesday holds when Laughing Grass doesn't literally steal the chat out from under me!!
