My warm weather stuff is still indoors, toms squashes, melons, sunflowers, cukes and a couple other things, I think saturday I'll put them out to harden off. I don't follow a normal hardening off schedule though. I have a spot going out from my garage that's basically an enclosed entrance way with the "front" open facing the morning sun... so I staple up some clear clear 3ml plastic and double it to make 6 ml so the direct morning sun is diffused for the 3-4 hours it gets. I leave them out there for a week or so and just plant them. I don't have a comparison to say it works better or worse, but for ease of hardening off, I'm all in. I'll make sure the night temps are ok for what I'm putting outside. for a couple years I made pseudo polytunnel to do the same thing, but that was more hassle then what is was worth, and it got more sunlight through the whole day, this current way seems to be working better. This year I thought I would get a jump on things because last year things went from a wet early spring condition to mid summer conditions... Mother Nature is just a....My baby eggplants were droopy this morning. I shouldn't have left starts out last night. All better now, but yeah, when's planting season already
