Many ankle sprains and broken toes have me always in Timberland Mount Maddsen boots, good fit, awesome wear, waterproof and excellent grip for a light hiker. I walk roads and trails with crushed limestone that’s terrible for tires and soles.
I actually have these exact boots and I love them. Had them for almost a year and half, given from homeowner I work for. I couldn't figure out the exact kind until now,I will be buying another pair. I can tear through boots in 6 months so these lasting this long says something. Plus I keep em clean and waterproof with leather cleaner.

Still looks pretty good.

We adore the look of a wood floor. Other than the bathrooms and StareCase Grow Space, hardwood everywhere else.
That floor was probably installed around 1900 although the house is much older. Many of the boards are continuous 14 foot boards, wall to wall, no butt joints. This town prospered on wood until Big Woods forest was all cut down and turned to the plow. Then the same water power converted to milling grain. Now the town is considering tearing down the weir that dammed the river for power and going hard on becoming a kayak/canoe destination.

It was only about 100 years ago the green mountains were almost bare of trees.

... cause I had to process a few branches who's upper portions were not secured to the stakes. Thanks to the wonder of Remo P-K BOOST, those tops blossomed ( bad pun ... I know! ) over these past week and were all flopping over today. Problem corrected ... but just a slight accidental brushing against that sticky icky gave me a slight contact buzz.

NH also, and most of southern Maine was all merino sheep country. Woolen mills, saw mills and shoe factories along the rivers.
The oil paintings from that period show just grass covered hills, not a tree in sight in the coutryside. All the stone walls are still there in the woods.
Everyone abandoned the area by the 1840's when better grazing and farmland to the west was sold.
