Measure it right, read the label.

Stoned on the Rocks
At some point past germinating a seed, have to go back to reading the label and following instructions.
Need to be able to measure liquids, powders, EC/ppm and PH. Mostly you can get by cheap, but the convenience of a quality EC/PH meter is nice.

PH strips, a cheap basic EC/ppm meter, and 1413μS EC calibration solution, accurate enough for the price.
Look for temp compensation even on a cheap EC/ppm meter. Don't waste money on a cheap PH meter, rarely last long.
~ $10 each

Nice combo EC/PH meter with replacable probe will be ~$135+, separate EC and PH units are half the price.
Then you have to buy additional calibration, cleaning and storage fluids, adds another $35 to the price.
EC meters are stored with cheaper distilled water vs the PH meter KCI solution, pro models like this will take readings much faster than a $10 unit.

Liquids: The 60mL and 20mL syringes can be re-used for a while, fit perfectly in the 1qt and smaller 1pt bottles.
I throw the caps away and leave them in each bottle.
Add a piece of tubing on the end to get it to the bottom of the bottle.
~$10 /dozen
