Electric fireplace, but put the heat setting on and you could be convinced
I have a cabinet style electric fireplace. started making clicking sounds so I'm afraid to use it.

I like how clean it is compared to a real fireplace and low upkeep on the cleaningElectric fireplace, but put the heat setting on and you could be convinced

Yea the smell of a fire is something. Brings back memories from my childhood when I smell someone burning this time year. Will have one again just a small one will do, want something older and to be able to see the fire also.

Agreed. Here's a fun twist, our electric fireplace....is a Napoleon! Electric with two small (at the time) kids was more practical when we renovated. Its all aesthetics at that point. We live downtown, my tiny Riverdale house maintains heat just fine

Has a remote control? Real fireplace doesn't have that convenience

It does! The biggest PITA? Its the same frequency as our IPTV remote, so sometimes channel surfing will turn it on/off -

Its certainly 'grey market' - we have two boxes and it costs me $15/mo. We get every imaginable channel, movie, series, sporting event (during the Olympics, we had 38 just dedicated to Olympic coverage - wanna watch trampoline all day? You could). We watched Beetlejuice Beetlejuice the week after it dropped in theatres. Red One was on there today

Sometimes I wish they did - cause they just keep pumping out the heat. And that is great for those colder nights. But when it's at or a little above freezing, our 1100-C "small block" raises the main floor temps to 82F. Great for clones - bad for Cronk's.
I had a Kodi box for a while. It was often a pain the ass to get things to load, finally gave up. They keep shutting down sources.
I could live with 82. We keep it at 75 in here during the day.
We grew up with Miracle on 34th St and It's a Wonderful Life lol. Christmas in Black and White. I liked Elf. Will Ferrell and James Caan and Peter Dinklage.
Right now I'm on my uninsulated front porch. It's cold today but my little kilowatt eater keeps me warm and comfy. Inside we are 68 daytime and 62 at night.

Along with the above, Mrs. Cronk and I also like The Bishop's Wife and the Alistair Sim version of A Christmas Carol for Holiday Movies in B&W.

It’s a Wonderful Life is a must watch for me on the 24th every year. Miz Chiz thinks it’s corny, but her loss. Amazing how seamlessly Elf entered into the fabric of holiday faves.
