Breeding for Stable Genetics

Will breeding with Afghani #1 lead to a stabilized strain quicker than using a "newer" hybridized strain?
I have a couple "variations" at F2 (I need more time and space) and was wondering if anyone more experienced could answer that and to what level is best for stability in that case? (f4-f5-f6 ?)
 
depends, how much room do you have for selection? should continue one generation after another until the vast majority of the plants you grow out are homogenous (if that is the end goal) this likely gets more complicated when starting with poly hybrids. i played around with some grand daddy purp seeds decided to do an inbred line i noticed after f2 every female was homogenous. (although this was just for fun, they may have been already homogenous when i started). may i ask why making your seeds homogenous is the goal rather than preserving a various number of phenotypes in seed form for potential later use?

For making a new strain that I can call my own and have it be consistent
 
That is a really hard question to answer. In my experience, it really all depends on the genetics. For example, I've made a strain that was essentially locked in at F2 and at F4 was essentially the same. A different strain took until an F4 generation to lock in the desired traits down to 2-3 phenotype expressions. There will always be some variation no matter what you do.

The trick I think is identifying the traits and phenotypes and breed with that in mind from the male and female side of the equation.

I want to use Afghani #1, I love the bud structure, as well as its place in making strains, so, I've read.
