Hey there, and welcome to GrowDolls! We’re so glad you found us.

We started GrowDolls because we saw a gap — too many grow forums still carried that old “outlaw” vibe, or got bogged down in politics and negativity. Cannabis is legal in much of the world now, and we wanted a place that feels different: respectful, social, and fun.

Happy Election Day to those who observe. I'm excited about an order from Floraflex out for delivery. It started with one FF bubbler/manifold/distribution head that was so far superior to the Orbit manifold I was experimenting with I bought more, and then more. Originally using their square 2 gallon pots and home made flood trays, I spent much of a year stuffing 8 plants into 4x4 tents with mixed results, mostly good. Learned many hard lessons!

Now I am attempting to conform to my state's plant count laws, 4 in veg and 4 in flower. It's an adjustment! And I refuse to count mothers and cuttings, dammit.

To that end, I am switching to 3 gallon pots, up from 2 gallons, in hopes of supporting a wide canopy. I debated going straight to 5 gallon, but I believe root mass is not important in dtw or any hydro for that matter, as long as those roots are fed frequently enough. In 5 gallons, I might as well be growing in 'living soil' and veg for 3 months! Ain't nobody got time for that! Typically, I transplant quite small plants into their final pots and flip to flower that same day. All the growth I get during stretch is more than enough time for roots to fill the pots and the plants themselves remain manageable, no flopping over, no growing into the lights.

Since I'm now pretty committed to this style and this equipment, I've been redoing my irrigation plumbing as well, switching out cpvc for 3/4 inch pvc and eliminating a lot of unnecessary twists and turns. Much cleaner looking and a faster flow to the manifolds. No better endorphin rush than looking at a nice neat tent. Okay, I'm a weirdo.

Thank you for sharing G. When you first built your irrigation system last year I just assumed you used really old pvc, hence the yellow colour. Very clean setup. When I first went DTW I had 3 gallon fabric pots, then I switched to 2 gallon nursery pots. I didn't notice any difference between the two.

I got it as a freebie, grew it and never cloned it. There were rumors it was unstable and had a hermie tendency and I was focused on the Polar Gelato. It turned out to be fire. Looks like Polar Gelato but not as tall. Maybe not the glamorous terp profile of PG but very strong. I got 2 free seeds, this is the second. This time around I cloned and kept a mother so it will be part of my stable going forward.

I wouldn't mind running PG again. I really liked terpine profile.

My experience with Acai was not positive.

Nicely done!! Are you going to the round Floraflex 3 gallon pots? My OCD loves a well laid out grow. It's a constant struggle!
