My AC Infinity Jones

Since today is my Growdolls birthday, I got myself a little grow prezzy. My last disaster with budrot has to be my last disaster with budrot. I do grow in an uncontrollable space, believe me, I've tried. Always at the mercy of whatever my basement climate is. So I'm taking active measures to control a single tent for flowering. I bought myself AC Infinity's new Terraform 7 combination AC, heater, dehumidifier. It's basically an indoor 8k btu airconditioner with connectivity to the Infinity controller app.

By configuring the hoses through 4 ports you can achieve different outcomes. I went with the basic setup, one hose into the tent, one hose returning to the unit. This promotes negative pressure and doesn't heat your lungroom up with warm exhaust. Or reverse the flow and pump warm air into your tent.

It came in, as usual, excellent packaging. All needed hoses and 2 window adapters are included

It's been running for about 35 minutes now, here's how the tent is responding. I set the controller to maintain 85F temp. It certainly knocked it down tight smart. I'm going to start another grow soon and contemplating turning it over to AI to run. I have 2 AI controllers but haven't let go of the reins yet. I'm hoping we can discuss and learn about all the automations available for growing here, a few of us are into the AC-I eco system and have had some ups and downs and user errors. I'm starting a grow journal as well, this is just about tech.

No, you can control it from a lighted screen on top but then it would have to have its own temp probe, which it comes with.

When you connect it to a controller, that probe overrides the onboard probe. It's a choice.

It operates as a standalone, yes, but those usually come with a handy remote. This does not. Controllers are very convenient.

So what are your thoughts after a few days running it.

It hard to say. I am trying out a lot of different controller settings and generally, in combination with the inline fan, maintains a pretty tight vpd when the lights are on. If it seamlessly switched between heating and cooling, it would be the awesomest, especially now when the weather is changing.

Yeah you definitely need this for your garage and those hot temps. I can't imagine what you'd produce with that,you grow some good flower.

I hope.they do. Now that I've fooled with it manually for a bit I'm turning it over to AI. So far, so good. Graph shows temp, rh and VPD. Looks like it knows what it's doing!

Here's a look at the AI history log. It makes many adjustments over time but here's the thing: it runs both the Terraform 7 and the inline fan at very low fan settings. The way I had it set up it was ramping up to 10 (11) and down to 0 constantly and we could hear it clearly upstairs. Now it looks like level 4 is the max it's used to achieve control, so that's really nice. Might save power too. I am more impressed now.

Okay, one more look at what's different about AI. Back to the data. Here's what was happening with my devices under my human set parameters:

It's been a hot minute since I added an ac infinity device. Yesterday, I took delivery of a Thermoforge tent heater

My recent purchase of air conditioning wasn't enough to handle swing season down in the growpit. Still had ridiculous high humidity at night which the AI sought to control partly successfully but there were still pretty dynamic swings in vpd

Last night I installed the thermoforge and the night unfolded thus:

You can see the peaks and valleys have greatly diminished. VPD, which I targeted in initial setup is almost smooth and the heat and humidity as well.

I'm feeling very well equipped to grow this winter in my basement. Last year I offset some issues by having 2 tents on different schedules which really helped. Running one tent and the heater will save me quite a bit in energy. The heater was $120. I'm done buying equipment, I swear it!
